Senior Account Executive, Internet and Social Media Strategist
Agency Philosophy: There is a “holy grail” attitude among many organizations; they believe the Internet is the key to their sales and marketing efforts. Internet strategies, with thoughtful planning, can be formidable and effective tools for the market-focused organization, but only when they’re built on research-based plans.
My role: I guide clients in the creation and effective use of web-based communications, helping them navigate the growing number of available tools and helping them avoid misconception that re-designing a web site or joining a social network will automatically create new business relationships. I direct the development of applications and campaigns that closely align with business goals. These projects create new interactive skills inside our clients’ organizations and complement their sales and marketing efforts.
My experience: For over 10 years, I have developed Internet components of marketing strategies. My team’s no-nonsense philosophy stems more from solving business problems than it does from a ”build it and they will come” approach. Staying current with the constant evolution of technology is vital to finding the right web solutions. Every day brings new technology, but we don’t let it dictate strategic business decisions. We investigate its relevance and then fold it in at the right time. As a result, even if they aren’t on Twitter or Facebook, we are developing web-savvy clients, in technology, healthcare and manufacturing.
What inspires me to drive often-complex initiatives are that they almost always reveal new opportunities. Web work is inherently public and every word and image is shared with a worldwide community. That community might just be loosely joined, but over time it seeds the simple things we all want for our organizations – fresh ideas, honest conversations, and new relationships.
New Project – I’m launching a new web site specifically for early-stage ventures in Connecticut. Dozens of these companies come through our office and we want to help every one. It’s part of our broader commitment to the Connecticut business community.Other Bits of Real-time Background
Twitter – Theoretically, it’s what I’m doing “right now”. Although I can’t possibly live that publicly, I do share. You be the judge.
LinkedIn Public Profile – Education, previous employers, etc.
Blog Posts – Short articles about marketing, interactive marketing and other topics our clients tend to find useful.
